8 Rescued After Boat Fire Off Sandy Hook

Sandy Hook, NJ - Eight people had to be rescued after their boat caught fire Sunday afternoon in Lower New York Bay.
The U.S. Coast Guard station off Sandy Hook, and the New York City Fire Department responded to rescue the eight. Their boat caught fire in Ambrose Channel, the main shipping channel between New York and New Jersey. None of the eight individuals required hospitalization, the Coast Guard at Sandy Hook told Patch.
