Middletown Man Charged with Hit and Run in Atlantic Highlands

Atlantic Highlands, NJ - A Middletown man was charged with leaving the scene of the accident after a crash Saturday night in Atlantic Highlands, police there reported Wednesday.

At approximately 9:07 p.m. on Jan. 30, Sergeant Scott Reinert and Patrolman Michael Zudonyi responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash on Memorial Parkway, Police Chief Jerry Vasto said.

The victim said a pickup truck cut him off and then slammed on his brakes, causing him to crash into the back of the truck. After the crash, the truck took off at a high rate of speed.

Chad E. Hacker, age 42, of Middletown, was later found by Atlantic Highlands police and charged with leaving the scene of the accident, failure to report an accident and reckless driving.
