Oak Hill Academy Sixth Grader Wins Regional Spelling Bee

Oak Hill Academy Sixth Grader Wins Regional Spelling Bee
Oak Hill Academy sixth grader, Aron Wiener, who resides in Loch Arbour, spelled "Arcus", which means a a dense, horizontal, roll-shaped cloud, to win the Scripps Regional Spelldown at Monmouth University on Tuesday night, March 18.  He survived 97 finalists to take home the winning trophy.

On May 25-31, Aron will move to represent the region in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. The final round will be on ESPN on May 29 at 8:00pm.

This is the second time, Oak Hill Academy has claimed a Regional Champion in this prestigious competition.  In 1999, Richard Tapnio won and finished 3rd Nationally.  

Congratulations to Aron in D.C.  We all wish you much S-U-C-C-E-S-S!
