Weekend Outlook for August 4 & 5

This weekend in Middletown, temperatures will be in the 80s with a possibility of scattered thunderstorms on both Saturday and Sunday evening.

will be having a charity bike raffle and poker run Sunday, August 5 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Middletown Elks Lodge #2179 in Belford. Raffle tickets are $100 each and a maximum of 300 tickets will be sold. The cost is $20 per rider, $10 per passenger. There will be live music, refreshments and vendors. The will be hosting a reception for its August artists, Janet Furlong and Lance Blum. The reception takes place Saturday, August 4 at 2 p.m. in the Main Community Room. For more information visit mtpl.org.

The New Point Comfort Fire Company of Keansburg will be having a fundraiser Saturday, August 4 when they present National Pro Wrestling Superstars.   This event will take place at The Bolger School Gymnasium, 100 Palmer Ave, Keansburg. Scheduled bouts include The Jersey Shore Title Bout, The Cruiser Weight Title Bout, Special Grudge match and others. There will also be a Special Appearance by WWE Alumni, the giant 6'9" "BIG DADDY V”.  Tickets are only $21 for ringside seats and $19 for bleacher seats, and are available by calling the NPWS box office at (732) 888-1704.

The 18th annual features every kind of clam from fried to steamed to stuffed. A variety of other seafood, as well as landlubber options will also be available. The event also features a wine and beer garden, live entertainment, dancing, games, rides a clam-shucking event, and more.

Clamfest hours are 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3rd, with entertainment from 7p.m. to 11p.m. by the Josh Zuckerman Band.

On Saturday, August 4, the festival begins at noon, with the Highlands Community Singers; the Kootz Band takes the stage from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. followed by the Sunny Daze Band. The Jonzes will be performing from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m.

Clamfest hours on Sunday, August 5, are noon to 8:00 p.m.. Pay-One-Price bracelets will be available from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. and again from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. both for $25.00. The Steel Rail Blues Band will also perform.
