Hundreds Take Part in Annual Costume Parade

The Millburn Fire Department holds its annual Halloween Parade in Taylor Park.

Hundreds of kids paraded around Taylor Park on Sunday for the 60th annual Edward J. O'Brien Halloween Parade, which is sponsored by the Millburn Fire Department. Estimates are about 500 kids registered for the parade. Trophies were given to the three best costumes in each category, and a grand prize winner was presented from the group. Following the parade, there were activities throughout the park including cider and donuts, treat bags, a DJ with games, a hay ride, a pumpkin patch, a pony ride and a petting zoo area.

There were changes to this year's parade, moving it from a night time event to an afternoon of fun in the park. Fire Chief Michael Roberts told the crowd they were happy with the turnout and planned to continue with the new format next year, making it bigger and better.
