The Millburn Education Association and the Millburn Board of Education announced on Thursday they have reached a new three-year contract agreement.
Both sides of ratified the agreement, which runs from July 1, 2014 to Jun 30, 2017.
The pool of monies for salaries will be increased by 2 percent for each of the three years. However, not every member will receive a 2 percent increase with about 48 percent receiving 1 percent or less.
Health benefit contributions will remain as required by law, which is between 23 and 35 percent of the health insurance premium with approximately 48 percent of the MEA membership paying 32 to 35 percent of the premium.
"The negotiating process afforded the opportunity for the MEA and BOE to have an open and respectful dialogue not only about the contract but other topics which are on the horizon for education," MEA President Lois Infanger and BOE Negotiations Committee Chairman John Westfall-Kwong said in a joint statement.
