Admission To Be Charged at The 64th Annual Montclair Fireworks Display

For the first time in a long time, audience members will have to pay to view fireworks in Montclair this 4th of July.

Admission To Be Charged at The 64th Annual Montclair Fireworks Display

In an effort to cut down on costs, those in attendance at the 64th Annual Montclair Fireworks Display will be charged a fee.

“Other towns are advertising the fireworks as their own,” said Pat Brechka, Director of Recreation and Cultural Affairs. “But they don’t want to help cover the costs.”

The fireworks themselves cost roughly $15,000, not including the use of the stadium, parking garages and security personnel.

“Think back to when the fireworks were held at Woodman,” said Brechka. “They used to charge but for the past two years at the stadium they’ve been free.”

Tickets will be $3 per person and $10 for a family of four and up. Children 5 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the recreation department located at 205 Claremont Ave. in Montclair, or at the gate at Yogi Berra Stadium, on the 4th of July.

Stadium gates will open at 7 p.m. and fireworks are expected to begin when the sun sets.

Free parking will be available at the event. There will also be open concession stands as no outside food or beverages will be allowed.

In case of rain the fireworks will be cancelled with no rain date.
