Focus On Camps: Sports Broadcasting Camps Returns This Summer

The award-winning Sports Broadcasting Camps will return for its 8th year in Northern New Jersey. The camp will be held the week of July 9-13, 2012 at Montclair State University. The camp is for boys and girls between the ages of 10-18.

At the camp, kids will have an opportunity to make sports anchor tapes on camera, host their own sports talk radio shows, be videotaped hosting their own “Pardon The Interruption” style show, as well as make play-by-play tapes into recording devices at a Jersey Jackals game, as well as serve as sideline reporters and studio hosts in our homemade studios.

Campers will also get a chance to meet local sports broadcasting celebrities. Past guests at the Sports Broadcasting Camp include icon Kenny Albert of Fox Sports, Chris Carrino and Tim Capstraw of the New Jersey Nets, Sal Paolantonio of ESPN, John Celestand of Yes Network, and players from the World Champion New York Giants.

All of the campers dreams of being the next Joe Buck, Bob Costas, Stuart Scott or Linda Cohn. Many already have their own sports blogs, podcasts, and internships. Some of the campers have already hit the big time. Scott Braun, a camper in New Jersey from 2003-2006, is an anchor for the MLB Network. Brian Seltzer, a Philadelphia participant, works as an ESPN radio reporter covering the Eagles. Every camper will receive a DVD of their videos during the week so that family and friends will get a chance to see these passionate sportscasters in action, doing what they love.

For more information about the Sports Broadcasting Camps call 1-800-319-0884 or 215-668-1501 or email info@playbyplaycamps.com. You can also go to www.playbyplaycamps.com.
