New Officers Join the Ranks of Montclair Police

Meet the newest member of the Montclair Police force.

Four new officers and one probationary officer were sworn in to the police department on Tuesday in the council chambers of the municipal building.

Welcoming the new officers that day at the ceremony were several Montclair Police officers, Township Manager Mark Dashield and Councilor Renee Baskerville.

The new officers are:

  • Jose Urena
  • Scott McGrath
  • Vidal Rojas
  • Daniel Heiser
  • Travis Davis, who is the probationary officer

Officers Urena and Rojas are former Paterson Police Officers, and probationary police officer Davis is a former Rutgers Newark campus police officer.

Urena, McGrath, Rojas and Heiser have served on the MPD for the past year as probationary officers while they completed their training. Davis will be sworn in next year when he completes his own probationary training.

The Montclair Police Department now has a force of 103 officers.
