More than 100 people laced up their ice skates for the second annual Skate4CF, a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation organized by the Courtright family of Caldwell.
The event, held Saturday at Clary Anderson Arena in Montclair, raised approximately $3,000 through admission costs, a silent auction, a bake sale and t-shirt sales.
The proceeds will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Mauli Ola Foundation, which teaches children with CF how to surf. (Salt air is a natural therapy for those afflicted with the disease.)
Greg and Jeanne Courtright have been actively involved in raising funds to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis, which affects the lung, pancreas and liver, since two of their four children were diagnosed with the disease in 2009.
