An Easy Way to Remember Your Anniversary

Burlington County offering Valentine's Day weddings at Smithville Mansion.

An Easy Way to Remember Your Anniversary

Ladies: Looking to have the most charming wedding anniversary possible?

Guys: Wanna be able to forget two romantic occasions for the price of one?

Burlington County has just the thing for both of you.

County Clerk Timothy Tyler will offer Valentine’s Day weddings (on Wednesday, Feb. 14) at the county’s historic Smithville Mansion on Smithville Road in Eastampton.

“Given the enormous success of last year’s St. Valentine’s Day weddings, it is once again my pleasure to offer couples the unique opportunity to exchange vows at the stately Smithville Mansion,” said Tyler. “With the continued support and cooperation of the county freeholders, the county Division of Parks and the Friends of Smithville Mansion, we are looking forward to hosting the event at this gorgeous and historic location.”

There are a limited number of appointments available, so interested couples should contact the clerk’s office as soon as possible to schedule their ceremony. Weddings will be performed by appointment, with the first wedding at 2 p.m. Ceremonies will be scheduled until 6 p.m.

Couples interested in a Valentine’s Day wedding should contact the clerk’s office at 609-265-5122 to ensure an appointment is available. The couple will need to obtain a marriage license from the town in which either of them reside. It takes 72 hours to obtain the license, so don't leave it till the last minute.

Tyler regularly performs wedding ceremonies for Burlington County residents and those posted to local military facilities. He performed more than 200 ceremonies in 2011.

Other special scheduled wedding dates and locations for 2012 include:

  • Leap Day ceremonies — Wednesday, Feb. 29, in the clerk’s office
  • — Date to be determined at the Historic Prison Haunt
  • 12/12/12 ceremonies — Monday, Dec. 12, at Smithville Mansion
  • 2012 Christmas ceremonies — Friday, Dec. 21
