Increase in Black Bear Sightings in South Jersey Likely

Black bears are more likely to be seen during mating season, the Courier Post reports.

Increase in Black Bear Sightings in South Jersey Likely
A black bear that made its way through Camden and Burlington counties this year likely made its way back into the woods, but it's not likely to be the end of bear sightings in southern New Jersey, the Courier Post reports.

Black bears are native to the state, and have always lived in southern New Jersey. It is likely they will be seen in the south more often during their mating season, which is June and July, according to the report.

The bear that was seen last month made appearances in Winslow, Waterford, Evesham, Medford, Mount Laurel and Hainesport.
