Moorestown Council News in Brief: What Was Approved Monday Night?
What ordinances and resolutions were approved by Moorestown Council during Monday's meeting?

Moorestown, NJ -- Moorestown Council approved a proposed ordinance on introduction and seven consent agenda resolutions during Monday night’s council meeting at town hall.
Council unanimously approved a proposed ordinance to install a mid-block crosswalk that connects the Second Baptist Church, 319 Mill Street, to the adjacent parking lot that was approved for the church in 2010.
Council needed to approve the mid-block crosswalk because they are required to be codified in township code.

The crosswalk will stretch from a spot 62 feet north of the northerly curb line of Beech Street to a point six feet north.
The second reading and public hearing will take place at the April 11 council meeting.

Council also approved a one-year contract extension to HD Supply Waterworks Ltd. for water meters. The contract was initially approved for a period of May 1, 2014-April 30, 2015, and was already extended once, for a period of March 23 of last year through April 30 of this year. This will be the final extension, and the amount won’t exceed $80,000.
It also approved a contract with Keystone Purchasing Network for remote lighting on the township’s athletic fields for $66,500.
Council approved a one-year extension with Woolston Company Inc. for the disposal of wastewater sludge. The contract was initially approved in 2013, and included an extension with a 2 percent increase last year, and a 3 percent increase on that cost this year. The cost is now up to $31,500 a year at $10.50 a pound, which remains lower than the initial bid from the three other contractors who bid on the project, according to Chief Financial Officer Tom Merchel.
Council also accepted a pair of resignations: Richard Crane resigned from the Zoning Board, and Barbara Williams resigned from the Recreation Advisory Committee.
