Looking at the top 10, Moorestown readers cared a lot about politics and crime this year, with the big nod going toward a story on a teen’s very trip to 7-Eleven.

10. Moorestown Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident in NY

Our list starts with a sad story from New York, where Moorestonian Andy Ananthakrishnan was struck and killed on the side of the road. Friends offered tributes in the comments section, calling Ananthakrishnan a “wonderful man and neighbor,” “true friend,” “calm, poised, smart, loving, engaging and energetic” and someone who “had the quality of raising the spirits of all around him.” Originally published June 8

9. Moorestown Splits Vote in Tight Town Council Race

November’s council race was hotly contested and anticipated. One slate each of Democrats and Republicans challenged each other, but voters decided to split the winners. Originally published Nov. 7

8. Mayor Button Out as Republicans Pick Fresh Slate of Candidates

John Button lost his party’s nod to run in the general election, so he decided to run as an independent. But Button and his slate later dropped out of the race, leading to the showdown we saw in No. 9. Button recently penned his goodbye letter as his council term ends. Originally published March 14

7. Police: Moorestown Woman Arrested for Prostituting Outside Wawa

The Moorestown woman was busted in Maple Shade for allegedly offering Wawa customers something extra with their morning coffee. Originally published June 28

6. Moorestown Selects New Superintendent After Exhaustive Search

5. Moorestown High School Senior Critical After Car Accident

An accident just days before her graduation left Brianna Wittman in critical condition and fighting for her life. Her class honored Wittman at graduation, and the teen has since made some progress as she recovers. Originally published June 13

4. Moorestown Teen Among 27 Arrested in Child Porn Sweep

“Operation Watchdog” zeroed in on a file-sharing site allegedly used to swap and view child pornography. The 17-year-old Moorestown suspect arrested was among 27 brought in statewide. Originally published April 17

1. Moorestown Teen Wins $1 Million with Help from 'Lottery Angel'

This 18-year-old had an angel looking over his shoulder when he took a chance on a couple of scratch off tickets at 7-Eleven. It worked: he’s now a (before taxes) millionaire. Find out who was looking out for the young man. Originally published Oct. 17
