Read a Good Book Lately? Talk About It

The Moorestown Library's Book Group meets tonight and every first Thursday of the month to discuss great reads.

Read a Good Book Lately? Talk About It

If you’re an avid reader interested in discussing books and getting ideas for your next great read, consider coming out for the Moorestown Library’s Book Group tonight at 7. We will discuss Let Us Now Praise Famous Men: Three Tenant Families, by James Agee and Walker Evans. Everyone is welcome, whether or not you’ve read the book.

In 1936, James Agee and Walker Evans headed south to explore the lives of American sharecroppers. Their work resulted in an extraordinary photojournalistic collaboration hailed by the New York Public Library as one of the most influential books of the 20th century. First published in 1941, Let Us Now Praise Famous Men remains a powerful exploration into the lives of society’s most poor and forgotten members.

The Moorestown Library Book Group meets every other month, generally on the first Thursday evening.

In March, the group will discuss Catherine Gildiner’s memoir of growing up in a sleepy New York town in the 1950s, Too Close to the Falls.
