Sinkhole Traps Pickup Truck In South Jersey: Report
A Mount Holly man awoke to discover his pickup truck was partially submerged due to flooding from heavy rain over the weekend.

MOUNT HOLLY, NJ — A New Jersey man awoke to his wife screaming at him to look outside. What he saw was his pickup truck sinking into mud water after heavy rain created a sinkhole in his backyard.
“This is the worst it’s ever been,” Dan Stevens told NBC 10. “We had a problem with another sinkhole about three years ago, but this is just torrential and horrible. I’m going to need to 10 guys to help me lift my truck out of this hole.”
Flash flooding hit South Jersey over the weekend. It caused damage to other homes on Stevens' street, and flooding resulted in the temporary closure of Route 38 in Cherry Hill overnight, according to the Cherry Hill Police Department. The road was covered in water, but it has since reopened.
