Try Before You Buy at Moorestown Library

Can't figure out which e-reader to invest in? Sample the latest technology at the library before you decide.

Try Before You Buy at Moorestown Library

Are you on the fence about buying an e-reader? Have you decided to invest in an e-reader, but aren’t sure which one is best to meet your needs?

Fear not, the Moorestown Library can help. From now through Nov. 14, thanks to a grant program from the New Jersey State Library, the library has created a “Technology Petting Zoo” to give you the opportunity to see and try out some of the most popular e-reader devices and tablets on the market.

These devices are available for you to use in the library during regular operating hours. We have five iPads, a Samsung Galaxy tablet, a Kindle Fire, a Kindle Touch and a Nook available for examination. You can come to the library and sample them, download e-books, and use the Wi-Fi features to determine which model best suits your needs.

You must use them in the library and they are available only to cardholders in good standing for up to two hours per day, depending on demand.

Once you decide which device is right for you, you can download e-books and audiobooks free of charge through the library’s Overdrive service. Simply click the “ Free audiobooks and e-books” link on our homepage to get started. If you need a little extra help, the library has tip sheets to help you configure your iPad, Nook, Kindle or smartphone to begin downloading e-books and audiobooks through Overdrive. Overdrive is constantly adding new material that you can access on your device.

If you want to experiment with some of the latest technology without spending money on the wrong device, come in and try out the Technology Petting Zoo. And if you already have an iPad, Kindle or Nook, remember as long as you have a library card in good standing, e-books and audiobooks are available at no charge.

Come in soon and let us show you how the Moorestown Library can help keep you reading in the e-reader age.
