Abbett Avenue Park To Be Renamed in Honor of Late Substance Abuse Counselor

George Gramby was a heralded member of Morristown, so it is only fitting his name adorns one of the town’s parks.

According to morristowngreen.com, the Morristown Council voted unanimously to rename the Abbett Avenue Park in Gramby’s honor. Morristown, which will celebrate George Gramby Day on July 12 for the 22nd consecutive year, the report said, will be the day of the park’s name unveiling.

Gramby became a substance abuse counselor and began Beginnings, a substance abuse referral program, the report said. Gramby died in 1992 of AIDS.
