AHS Offers Mobile Spay/Neuter Service In Newark

Low-cost services are in demand in Essex County, the shelter reports.

As the summer months approach, the need for spay and neuter services in North Jersey is heating up.

The Associated Humane Societies reported in its August newsletter that it’s booked up its mobile spay/neuter van for the entire month of July, in order to service appointments in Newark, Elizabeth, Plainfield, Belleville, Maplewood, Linden, Carteret and Orange.

The van provides low-cost spay and neuter services, as well as wellness, pit bull altering and dentistry, according to the AHS newsletter. Special dates are made available for senior citizens, rescue groups and feral cat colony caretakers.

The shelter is now taking appointments for August.
