Authorities have found the body of a man who allegedly fell into the Passaic River on Monday evening, a report says.

Newark, NJ - Authorities have found the body of a man who allegedly fell into the Passaic River on Monday evening, a report says.
The search for the victim was discontinued Tuesday after responders from the Newark Fire Department discovered the man's body with an underwater camera, NJ.com reported.
The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his family, authorities said.

Firefighters, police and dive teams were seen conducting a search near Raymond Boulevard and Madison Street in Newark, NJ.com reported.
Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose told NJ.com that friends of the victim called police and said the man fell into the water.

He was reportedly swept away before his friends could assist him, NJ.com stated.
The man was not believed to have been attempting suicide nor do police believe he fell in accidentally, Ambrose told NJ.com.
