Bus Catches Fire On NJ Turnpike, One Mile Delay Reported

A Friday night bus fire on the New Jersey Turnpike Eastern Spur southbound near exit 15E is causing delays, authorities said.

According to information from the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, the vehicle fire is located north of exit 15E in Newark. As of 9:45 p.m., there is a one mile delay from south of Interchange 15W - I-280 in Kearny to north of Interchange 15E - US 1&9 in Newark, the NJ Turnpike Authority said.

The fire started around 8:45 p.m., ABC 7 reported.

No information regarding the cause of the fire or injuries was immediately available.
