Essex County Set For 2016 African Caribbean Festival In Branch Brook Park

The theme of the 2016 celebration is "One Love," a homage to musical and political icon Bob Marley.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Essex County is home to one of the largest Caribbean populations in the state of New Jersey, but until recently, there has been a lack of Caribbean-themed festivals in the area.

That’s why the Essex County Freeholders are touting their 2nd Annual African Caribbean Festival, slated this year from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Branch Brook Park in Newark.

The theme of the 2016 celebration is “One Love,” a homage to musical and political icon Bob Marley, a freeholder news release stated.
