HIGHLAND PARK, NJ — A two-alarm fire broke out at 4:15 a.m. Monday, July 29 at the Forest Glen/Treetops apartment complex in Highland Park. It is worth nothing that is the second major fire in the Forest Glen/Treetops complex in the past six months.

Taken by Highland Park police, that's a photo from the scene Monday morning.

According to News 12, today's fire was extremely hot and spread to six units in the apartment complex, destroying all six. The roof also partially collapsed and there were holes in the floors, making firefighting very dangerous. One firefighter had to be treated for an arm injury.

The fire broke out when all the residents were fast asleep, but everyone made it out of the apartment complex safely.

There was a very serious fire in the Forest Glen/Treetops apartment complex in March of this year: As Patch reported at the time, that was a three-alarm that broke out at 5 p.m. on March 26. That fire was at 107 Forest Glen Drive. The roof collapsed in that fire, as well. Everyone safely escaped and nobody was injured.
