Rutgers Police Investigate Burglary

The building does contain Rutgers University offices, but no university offices were affected by the break-in, a school spokesman said.

Rutgers - The Rutgers University Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred sometime over the weekend at Liberty Plaza, an office building at 335 George Street.

That building does contain Rutgers University offices, such as some offices for the university's General Counsel, but no university offices were affected in the burglary, Greg Trevor, a Rutgers spokesman, told Patch. The Rutgers University offices are on a different floor than where the burglary occurred, he said.

The burglary occurred sometime between the hours of 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8 and 7:30 a.m. Monday morning, July 11, while the offices were empty, Det. Lt. Brian Emmett of the Rutgers police said in an email alert. The perpetrator, or perpetrators, gained entry into a locked office suite by way of force and removed several items of value.
