I-78 Reopened Following Tractor Trailer, 2-Car Crash In Berkeley Heights
Breaking: The cleanup of an accident involving a tractor trailer and two cars on Interstate 78 in Berkeley Heights Tuesday is now complete.
BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ — UPDATE: The cleanup of an accident involving a tractor trailer and two cars is is now complete on Interstate 78 East and West in Berkeley Heights Tuesday.
The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of the interstate at mile marker 45.5 and involved a tractor trailer, a Ford and an Acura cars, New Jersey State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez said.
The tractor trailer struck and crashed into the center concrete median and had became engulfed in flames, Goez said. The driver of the truck was able to escape with minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital.

Two other passengers in the cars suffered minor, non-life threatening injuries and taken to an area hospital. The two left lanes on both the eastbound and westbound sides were closed until around 2:30 p.m.
