A child has died after recently drowning in the pool of a New Jersey hotel, according to authorities.
The Camden County prosecutor's office did not identify the child who drowned, but a hotel staff member who called 911 told nj.com that the victim appeared to be a boy of four or five years old.
The prosecutor's office said the Voorhees incident is under investigation, confirming to nj.com that the child died but did not provide any other details. The report said the incident took place on April 15, but did not indicate why the information was not released until now.

The incident occurred just after 7:30 p.m. on April 15 in the indoor pool of the Hampton Inn at 320 Route 73, according to the report. A staff member called 911 from the hotel's front desk, and shouts and raised voices can be heard in the background of the recording.
"I have someone who is drowning in the pool. I need you to come with an ambulance," she told the dispatcher, according to the report.
