Eddie Shiffler to Perform in Ocean City March 15 and 16
Eddie Shiffler makes his musical return to Ocean City on March 15.

The singer/songwriter and band leader will perform a musical retrospective at an Ocean City Repertory Theater location to be announced on March 15 and 16.

Recent storm damage prevents the show from taking place at the theater on Asbury Avenue, according to city officials.

“Rattling Chains,” named after one of Shiffler’s most popular songs, starts 7 p.m. each night. He will close the performance with his new band Green Language, and will perform alongside musicians he’s collaborated with over the past few years.

Shiffler helped establish the Arts Center while working for the Ocean City Fine Arts League. He worked on the center alongside the late Jim Penland and others.

He went on tour with his bands, and lived in New York for five years while establishing his band Dogz of Zeus. He also worked for the New York Mets.

Tickets are $10, and are available from the theater by calling 609-457-6686.

To purchase tickets directly from Shiffler, call 347-813-5090.

Before that, Shiffler presents a free lecture on the “History of Money” at the Ocean City Free Public Library from 7-8:50 p.m.

“Money is one of the most important and volatile issues in our daily lives but rarely do people stop to consider its dynamic history: a history steeped in secrecy, power, war, famine and even alchemy,” Shiffler said in a release issued Tuesday morning.

The program includes a Power Point presentation, short educational videos, images and discussion.
