Ocean City Fire Leaves 2 Homes Uninhabitable: Officials
Everyone was able to evacuate safely on their own, officials said.
OCEAN CITY, NJ — A fire left two Ocean City homes uninhabitable Saturday morning, according to officials. Everyone was able to evacuate safety on their own.
The fire came from a crawl space in the first-floor bathroom of 4041 Central Ave. at 5:20 a.m. Firefighters arrived within about two minutes to find smoke showing from the crawl space of the side-by-side wood-framed dwelling.
4041 Central Ave. was unoccupied. Everyone in the 4043 unit made it out safety on their own, and nobody was injured in the incident. Firefighters located, confined and extinguished the fire in the craw space.

Significant smoke damage left both homes uninhabitable. The fire is under investigation. Marmora and Margate fire companies provided assistance.
