Organizing Tips for Each Room of the House

If you've ever come across some cardboard boxes, then you have also come across the answer to an organized home.

If you’ve ever come across some cardboard boxes, then you have also come across the answer to an organized home. Don’t believe me? Well, don’t take my word for it. I’m just an average Joe. Would you believe Pinterest? Of course you would! Well, Pinterest has oodles and oodles of posts, tutorials, blogs, you-name-its about how to transform cardboard boxes into cute, clever, and creative storage. Here are a few simple tips on how to make this happen in each room of your house:

The Bathroom

Most bathrooms have storage space that you didn’t even know existed. Turn an old shoe box or Kleenex box into an adorable piece of storage by covering it with cloth. Put a couple rolls of TP in it, or fill it with rolled wash cloths and keep it on the back of the toilet.

The Entry Way

Maintain the clutter in your entryway by setting up a system. A bench with cubbies underneath it is a great idea for you’re your entryway. Cover it with a cushion to make for soft landing while you put on your shoes. Set up a coat rack or hang some hooks from the wall above the bench. Don’t want the clutter of the cubbies shown to the world? Cover some cardboard boxes with designed vellum paper, make a label out of chalkboard paper or any number of label stickers, and put each child or family member’s name on each box so that you know whose stuff is where.

The Bedroom

Oooh…Sounds kind of ominous when I say it like that, right? The bedroom…dun dun dun… There are a lot of organizing options for in “the bedroom”, but did you know that you can make drawer dividers using cereal boxes?

The Kitchen

While I’m talking about cereal boxes, I recommend a wall organizer made out of them. You can hang it on your fridge, or on a wall in your kitchen. Label each section with the category (ingoing, outgoing, recipes), or use it as a kind of mail system for your family to help keep track of all the paperwork that everyone always forgets about (field trip slips, doctor bills, report cards).

The Office

I can’t say enough about cereal boxes. When it comes to organizing, they truly are the mother of all cardboard boxes. You can cover them and use them as a filing system on your office shelves. You can cut them up and lay them out to make an amazing drawer organizer. You can make more wall organizers.

The best part is that no one would believe what they were made out of!
