SUV Catches Fire, Destroying Sea Isle City Home

SEA ISLE CITY, NJ — An SUV caught fire in a driveway before the blaze destroyed a Sea Isle City home Thursday night, according to officials. No injuries were reported.

The fire began at about 10:40 p.m. and took about 40 minutes to extinguish, according to the Associated Press. Strathmere Fire & Rescue said their units cleared at 12:27 a.m. Friday.

The flames quickly spread from the SUV to the garage and then to the home, according to the AP. Heavy flames engulfed the residence.

Several people had arrived there beforehand for Memorial Day weekend, the AP reports. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
