Paramus Chef Wins Regional Cooking Competition

PARAMUS, N.J. — A Paramus chef won a regional cooking competition last week.

Alan Garcia of the Bahama Breeze in Paramus won the restaurant chain's second annual Top Chef competition.

Garcia won for his pauza tilapia with jerk butter asparagus and calabaza mash.

Garcia was raised in Peru and has been cooking for 12 years, the last six of which has been with Bahama Breeze.

Garcia took home $1,000 for winning the competition.
