A number of people were temporally trapped inside stores at the Kinderkamack Road strip mall in River Edge after the facade collapsed off the building, police said.
The facade of the plaza from Crown Trophy to the FMA Center collapsed, blocking shop entrances. It also landed on cars, according to The Record.

One woman said she was leaving one of the stores when the facade collapsed, according to The Record. She was trapped in the store, then rescued.
The cause of the collapse is still unknown, according to the report. An employee at Hair We Are said the salon was calling customers to cancel appointments.

Daily Voice said nobody was injured in the collapse and that people managed to get out of the stores safely.
