Emergency Responders Combat Fire On Nassau Street: Cops

Drivers are advised to avoid the area Thursday afternoon, Princeton police said.

PRINCETON, NJ — A small explosion resulted in an underground fire in the area of 229 Nassau Street Thursday afternoon, according to Princeton police. The fire has since been put out, and no injuries were reported.

The fire department remains on the scene, awaiting the arrival of PSE&G to make any necessary repairs. Drivers should expect delays and avoid the area if possible.

The cause of the explosion remains under investigation, but is not considered to be suspicious.
