Mercer County Teen Charged With Murder of 16-Year-Old Girl
The unidentified teen was arrested on Friday night.

A Trenton teen was arrested late Friday night and charged with the April 24 shooting death of 16-year-old Ciony Kirkman, Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri and Trenton Police Director Ernest Parrey Jr. said Monday afternoon.
The U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested the 17-year-old boy, who was not identified because he’s a juvenile, without incident at a relative’s house.
He is charged with murder, six counts of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. He is currently being held at the Middlesex County Youth Detention Center.

Kirkman was shot in the head at Jersey Street and Home Avenue at about 6:25 p.m. on April 24. She was in a Ford Windstar minivan along with six other juveniles at the time of the shooting. The minivan had been reported stolen in Trenton several days earlier.
Kirkman succumbed to her injuries two days later. The charges are a result of an investigation by Detective Pat Holt and the Mercer County Homicide Task Force.
