Ridgewood Police will be using traffic plates and video recordings to conduct a traffic impact study of Garber Square over the next few weeks.
According to a recent post on the PD’s Facebook page, the study is part of the village’s Engineering, Education and Enforcement traffic safety initiative.
Ridgewood Police will be working with security video company Watch 24 Security to conduct the study, the post said.
The PD plans to use “High Star traffic plates on targeted streets to track traffic flow and speeds,” cops said in the post.
“In addition Secure Watch 24 Security is providing 2 of their Mobile Suite Video Management System (VMS) which include portable high-definition IP-based cameras and self-contained DVR/NVR units which will be deployed to provide continuous coverage of traffic flow on Garber square and on Franklin Ave[nue].”
Cops said they have been working with Watch 24 over the past two years on similar safety initiatives.
