Wolitzer to Headline Ridgewood Library's 25th Annual Author Luncheon Wolitzer to Headline Ridgewood Library's 25th Annual Author Luncheon

The following was submitted to Patch by the Friends of the Ridgewood Library.

Best-selling author Meg Wolitzer, author of the breakout novel “ The Interestings”, will be the guest speaker of the Library’s 25th annual Author Luncheon on Wednesday, March 12 at Seasons in Washington Township from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The author will speak and sign copies of her novel.

Wolitzer’s New York Times best-selling novel “The Interestings” has received dazzling reviews.  It is a panoramic novel about what becomes of early talent, and the roles that art, money, and even envy can play in close friendships.  It features six East Coast kids who meet at a summer camp for the arts in the 1970s, five of which come from wealthy homes and the sixth enamored of the privilege of the others.  Wolitzer follows these characters from the height of their youth through middle age, as their talents and fortunes diverge.

Wolitzer is the latest in an impressive array of literary luminaries invited to speak at the annual Author Luncheon.  Previous authors include Kathleen Grissom (2013), Jennifer Egan (2012), Alexander McCall Smith, Elizabeth Strout, Lisa See, Sue Monk Kidd, Khaled Hosseini and Ridgewood’s own Harlan Coben.

Proceeds from the event, which includes a silent auction, will benefit the Ridgewood Public Library.  Seating is limited and advance reservations are required.  Reservation forms are available at the Ridgewood Public Library or by visiting the library’s website at www.ridgewoodlibrary.org.

Tickets are $65 (Friends Member) and $70 (non-member). For more information, please call the Ridgewood Library at 201-670-5600 x 180 or email to annualauthorluncheon@ridgewoodlibrary.org.
