New ShopRite Opening Near Union County

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — A new ShopRite is opening in South Plainfield on Nov. 2.

Located in the Golden Acres Shopping Center, 3600 Park Ave., South Plainfield, the 80,000-square-foot ShopRite of South Plainfield will be operated by Saker ShopRites, Inc., a family-owned business made up of third and fourth generation grocers.

The location underwent an extensive renovation and includes favorite ShopRite features such as a from-scratch bake shop with special occasion cakes and freshly made bread; meat department with trained butchers; full service seafood department with daily, fresh catch deliveries; a floral shop and full service deli department with gourmet and grab-and-go items.

Visitors to the new ShopRite of South Plainfield will also find a pharmacy, in-store cafe, a specialty Cigar Shoppe, and a full-service catering department. Customers can take advantage of a store nutrition expert and nutrition center and chef-taught cooking classes in the store’s culinary workshop.

ShopRite from Home, the online shopping service, will also be available. ShopRite associates personally shop those online grocery orders and customers can pick up their groceries at the store or have them delivered right to their doorstep.

The new store will offer freshly prepared hot entrees, sushi, a cold buffet, Mediterranean olive bar, made-to-order sandwiches and cheeses from around the world, along with a large selection of fresh produce and natural and organic products at ShopRite’s low, everyday prices.

The store, which will employ more than 300 workers when it opens, is outfitted with the latest energy-saving and sustainable technologies in refrigeration and lighting, including glass doors on the dairy and freezer cases, LED and T-8 lighting and environmentally-friendly refrigerant systems.
