911 Caller: 'You Got the Shooting in the Parking Lot?'

Only one 911 call placed following fatal shooting of Hoboken attorney last month in Short Hills Mall parking garage.

911 Caller: 'You Got the Shooting in the Parking Lot?'
A man who identified himself as an AT&T employee was apparently the only person to call 911 in the minutes after last month's fatal carjacking at The Mall at Short Hills.

"You got the shooting in the parking lot?," the man asked the police dispatcher during the 40-second phone call obtained by The Star-Ledger.

"Yeah, we're aware of it," the dispatcher responded. "What can you tell me?"

The caller said he did not witness the shooting and could not provide any further details, according to the recording.

It is not clear how police were initially notified of the shooting since the AT&T employee was the only person to call 911.

The four men accused of killing Dustin Friedland, 30,  pleaded not guilty Wednesday.

Attorneys for Hanif Thompson, 29, of Irvington and Karif Ford, 31, Basim Henry, 32, and Kevin Roberts, 33, all of Newark, entered not guilty pleas before Judge Peter J. Vazquez.

All four men have been charged with murder, felony murder, carjacking, conspiracy and weapons possession.
