Joseph P. Peyton

Joseph P. Peyton, a South Orange resident, died May 5. Peyton was born in Chicago, and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II, flying more than 30 missions over Germany as a pilot and first lieutenant on B-17 and B-24 bombers. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Peyton graduated from Susquehanna University, with a B.A. degree in business. He worked for Bankers Trust in New York City for 29 years and in the security department at Bloomingdales for 50 years.
