Local Dog Gets Own Facebook Page In South Orange
Sunny, a six-year-old American bulldog, is the last dog remaining after the closure of the Jersey Animal Coalition building.
The Jersey Animal Coalition (JAC) is seeking an adoptive family for Sunny, a six-year-old American bulldog, who is the last animal remaining after the closure of the nonprofit’s South Orange facility in 2014.
In an effort to find a permanent home for Sunny, the JAC created his own Facebook page, complete with a comprehensive biography:
“My name is Sunny and I’m 6 years old. I’m a boy and an American Bulldog mix. I’m 100 percent housebroken and love to cuddle with people I know. My favorite game is keep-away. I am very intelligent and love to learn new things. I have been crate and obedience trained by a renowned dog trainer. I would love a fenced-in yard to run and play in. My perfect forever home would be a single-pet household. Because I am very strong and a bit protective, as bulldogs tend to be, I would do best in an adult only home with people who are confident and familiar with the breed.”

According to the JAC:
“In May 2011, Sunny arrived at the Jersey Animal Coalition, a no-kill animal shelter in South Orange, NJ. Despite all of his positive attributes, he has never been given a chance by an adopter. When the Jersey Animal Coalition closed its doors in October 2014, Sunny was the last animal to leave the building. In the 25 years the Jersey Animal Coalition was an organization, over 10,000 dogs and cats were saved and adopted. Unfortunately, only Sunny now remains.”
