Body Found Inside Burning Car In Union County

Breaking: Authorities are investigating a body that was discovered inside a burning vehicle in Union Township early Friday morning.

UNION, NJ — A body found inside a burning vehicle early Friday morning in Union County has sparked an investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force, acting Union County Prosecutor Michael A. Monahan announced.

A Union Township Police Officer spotted the fire at around 4 a.m. on Lousons Road near Morris Avenue causing fire and emergency officials to respond.

The identity of the body and the cause of the fire have yet to be determined, Monahan said.

The Union Township Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office’s Crime Scene Unit and Union County Arson Task Force are assisting in the investigation.
