New Council Members Sworn In, 'State of District' Meeting Held This Week
The Summit Common Council will hold its organization meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall. Newly-elected council members Sandra Lizza and Mike McTernan as well as the re-elected Councilman-at-Large Gregory Drummond will be sworn in. COMMUNITY MEDITATION AT CHRIST CHURCH SUMMIT: Christ Church is sponsoring a Community Meditation for Peace on Wednesday from 7:15 - 8:30 pm in Lile Hall.  Summit jazz musician and composer Dan Rufolo will play meditative piano during the evening. There is no fee and all are welcome.

The Summit Board of Education will hold a workshop meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Board room at Wilson School. 

Speak Up Summit hosts its annual 'State of the District' meeting on Saturday. Join school district officials, board of education members, and community leaders at the home of Patti Schneider, 11 Warwick Road in Summit, to discuss news and information that are impacting schools.  Coffee will be served from 9 to 9:30 a.m., and the presentation will begin at 9:30 a.m.
