Hitman Arrested In Bergen County Is The Son Of NY State Trooper: Report

Joshua Craig Rowling was charged with conspiracy to commit murder after authorities said he drove to The Mason Jar to accept payment.

MAHWAH, N.J. — The 18-year-old arrested in the borough last week for allegedly arranging to perform a contract killing is the son of a New York state trooper, according to a report.

Joshua Craig Rowling, 18, was charged with conspiracy to commit murder after authorities learned that he allegedly agreed to commit a murder in exchange for a firearm and cash, said Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal. Rowling reportedly drove to the Mason Jar in Mahwah to meet with someone he thought he was offering his services to, but who was actually an undercover police officer, Grewal said.

Rowling is the son of Jared C. Rowling, who works out of the Princetown barracks in Schenectady County, according to The Daily Gazette.
