ENGLEWOOD, N.J. — The last member of a five-man burglary crew was arrested after detectives from several police departments investigated dozens of reported burglaries along Route 17, including one where more than $750,000 worth of goods were stolen, authorities said.

Javon Barlow, Rashad Black, Jamar Travis, Tahref Folkes and Walter Smith were arrested in connection with the burglaries, said Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal.

Detectives from the Bergen County Sheriff's Office and the Paramus, Tenafly, Englewood and Saddle River police departments composed the task force.

A residential burglary was reported Nov. 16 in Harrington Park where jewelry, cash and rare artifacts totaling $750,000 were reported stolen, Grewal said.

The task force quickly identified and arrested Walter Smith, 49, of Englewood, for his alleged role in the burglary, Grewal said. Four of Smith's co-defendants escaped the area on foot and authorities recovered a large amount of cash and other items thought to be taken during the burglary, Grewal said.
