Bergen Woman Charged With Child Abuse
Joyce Gonzalez, 39, was charged after a 10-year-old boy attended school with an injured shoulder, authorities said.

BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. — A woman was charged with child abuse after a boy attended school with an injured shoulder, authorities said.
Joyce Gonzalez, 39, of Lodi, was arrested after a joint investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and the Lodi Police Department, said Gurbir S. Grewal, Bergen County prosecutor.
Members of the prosecutor's office Special Victims Unit were contacted Friday by the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency, who advised them that a 10-year-old boy went to school with an injured shoulder, Grewal said.

Authorities investigated and Gonzalez was arrested and charged Friday with child abuse, the prosecutor said.
Authorities did not say what relationship, if any, the boy and Gonzalez have or if they are related.

Gonzalez was released on a summons and appeared in court March Saturday.
