Heroin, Xanax Seized in Toms River After Cops Observe Drug Deal
Search was the culmination of month-long investigation
The Toms River Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at 901 Tudor Drive on Monday, the culmination of a month-long investigation into heroin distribution, police spokesman Ralph Stocco said.
The targets of the investigation were Albert Palmieri, 28, and Dana Matrano, 25, both of whom were arrested.
Stocco said the search yielded 461 wax folds of heroin, 38 Xanax pills, and $1,019 in U.S. currency.
Just prior to executing the search, Stocco said, warrant officers observed Matrano distribute 10 wax folds of heroin while inside a business on Fischer Boulevard. Officers approached Matrano and the buyer, identified as Michael Lord, 28, of Lavallette and both were arrested.
Palmieri was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of Xanax and possession of Xanax with the intent to distribute.
Matrano was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, distribution of heroin, possession of Xanax, and possession of Xanax with the intent to distribute.
Both Palmieri and Matrano were being held on $100,000 cash bail at the Ocean County Jail.
Lord was charged with possession of heroin and released on a summons.
