Talk on Drugs to be Hosted in Toms River Thursday Night
The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office along with the DART Coalition of Ocean County and the Barnabas Health Institute will host a program on drug use in Ocean County at the Pine Belt Arena Thursday night.

The program, "Your Kids Count: Can We Talk?" is designed as a drug prevention and education forum for parents and guardians, and will feature presentations by Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato, retired DEA agent Douglas S. Collier who is now working for the New Jersey Attorney General's Office, and former New York Giants running back and former Lacey Township High School football standout Keith Elias.

The program will also include a presentation titled “Jesse’s Journey-The Aftermath of Experimental Drug Use” hosted by the Morella family.

Attendees, according to the prosecutor's office, will gain a working knowledge of the signs and symptoms of drug abuse, an understanding of the drug problems facing Ocean County and how to create an open dialogue with children about the dangers of drugs.

A prescription drug drop off will also be set up at the event. Those who plan on attending are encouraged to bring their expired or unused prescription medications and safely discard them at the prescription drug drop off site.

The program will begin with refreshments at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program at 7 p.m. and a Q&A panel from 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The Pine Belt Arena is located at 1245 Old Freehold Road, Toms River.
