Toms River Changes Its Recycling Rules
Some items will now have to be taken directly to the Ocean County Recycling Center.

Toms River, NJ — If you have old electronics you were hoping to recycle locally, we have bad news: Toms River will no longer accept them beginning Oct. 1.
Township officials announced the change on Facebook Monday, and said it is because of the cost for the township to dispose of the items.
"Due to a significant increase in disposal fees of electronics, Toms River is no longer able to accept TVs and electronics from our residents," the announcement said. "In order to avoid this cost, effective October 1, 2016, the Department of Public Works is no longer accepting electronic waste such as televisions, computers and copiers at the Recycling Convenience Center on Church Road."
