Toms River Officer Honored for Making Most DWI Arrests
A Toms River police officer was among many honored Wednesday at an event to recognize the state's most successful officers when it comes to drunk driving arrests.

Officer Robert Westfall made 102 DWI arrests in 2013, making him a close second to Officer Steven Schmidt of Stratford, Camden County, who made 104 arrests last year, the most in the state, according to a report on NJ.com. Westfall was recognized as the top Ocean County officer for DWI busts.

The event, NJ.com reported, honored hundreds of officers who stood out in their drunk driving enforcement efforts. The annual ceremony, held in Edison, includes speakers from Mother Against Drunk Driving, relatives of victims of drunk driving accidents and a ceremony honoring the officer in each New Jersey county who made the highest number of DWI arrests the previous year, according to the website.
