Toms River Police Pulling A Plane For Special Olympics

The team of 20 will compete in the Plane Pull at Newark Liberty International Airport in September and they need your support.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — How many police officers does it take to pull a Boeing?

According to the Toms River PBA, it will take 20.

The Toms River Police Benevolent Association Local 137 has created a team of officers from the Toms River Police Department who will compete in the New Jersey Special Olympics Plane Pull at Newark Liberty International Airport on Sept. 24. The team of 20 officers will pull a United Airlines Boeing 737 a distance for time.

"We are excited for this opportunity to raise money for the Special Olympics of New Jersey," the PBA said. "We need your help to raise at least $2,000 to benefit our Special Athletes here in New Jersey."

New Jersey's Special Athletes are the only ones in the country who do not pay for the events they enter, the PBA said in announcing its plans to compete in the Plane Pull.
